Thanksgiving in Austin Texas

The view above the rain clouds in the Austin area. Such a beautiful site.

The flight from SLC Utah to Austin Texas is only a few hours as a direct flight. It went smoothly and as expected, the holiday week was cloudy and rainy.

The rain is strangely soothing as I seem to have pretty bad allergies with every visit to Austin. As it turns out, I’m not the only one with allergy issues here. I found two good links that goes in depth of why it seems to be a major problem for many people. https://www.aspireallergy.com/blog/texas-is-one-of-the-worst-places-for-allergies-and-heres-why. https://uthealthaustin.org/blog/austin-allergy-madness

While the weather wasn’t too bad the day after Thanksgiving, we checked out Pennybacker Bridge or Austin 360 Bridge. This is a really short climb with a nice view and is a popular tourist viewing area. It’s a nice view of lake Austin/Colorado River. Parking can be fairly limited, isn’t recommended to park at over night and will almost always have cars parked at it during the day. Since it was rainy weather the trail was fairly muddy & slippery.
